Within Walking Distance
Arlington National Cemetery -- Just four blocks from the Hyatt
Arlington. Located on Roosevelt and Schley Drive, Arlington, VA,
703.607.8000. Begin your exploration at the Visitor Center where you
can obtain a map. Many visitors are surprised to find the iconic Iwo
Jima Marine Corp Memorial here. Other popular sites on the Cemetery
grounds include the Kennedy burial site, Arlington House (former home of the
Confederate General Robert E. Lee), and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers.
Georgetown -- Across Key Bridge to M Street. The oldest and
wealthiest neighborhood in the District of Columbia, Georgetown owes some of
its charm to geography. It's set apart from Washington proper by Rock
Creek on the east and the Potomac on the south. Walk to the C&O Canal
for a stroll along the water, Cox's Row to see architecture, M Street for
some serious boutique shopping, and Washington Harbor for nightlife.
